Spending time in the sun and enjoying the long summer days brings you plenty of joy. Unfortunately, while fun, many of these activities can negatively affect your skin, causing it to show premature signs of aging. When your wrinkles and skin elasticity issues become more noticeable than they should be, Vivace® RF microneedling can improve your skin quality. At Jade MD Aesthetics, we offer Vivace® RF microneedling treatments to those looking to reduce their signs of aging.

How Vivace® RF Microneedling Works

Vivace® RF microneedling is a very popular minimally invasive procedure for skin rejuvenation that works for every skin type and tone. As the name suggests, it combines the power of radiofrequency (RF) and traditional microneedling to trigger the skin’s healing response. Once that happens, your body will start sending new collagen into the treated area, reducing the signs of aging.

The Vivace® RF microneedling device uses tiny needles to poke micro-channels in your skin, promoting a new regeneration process. The device will also send RF energy through the needles on the deeper layers of your skin, improving skin rejuvenation.

The RF is passed directly into the deeper layers of your skin and bypasses the top part. This reduces recovery time, as the upper layers that were not affected by the needles remain intact. Since the RF is delivered straight to the root where the collagen is formed, the effects are quick to show.

Recovery from Vivace® RF Microneedling

Vivace® RF microneedling is a low-impact procedure that does not pierce the skin, so the potential for downtime is low. Most patients do not feel any discomfort, as the area is numbed before the treatment commences. The numbing cream can also be foregone if you have little pain sensitivity.

Since the treatment involves microneedling and radiofrequency, you might notice some tiny needle pricks over the skin, along with redness, slight inflammation, and bruising. These symptoms often subside within a week or two with proper aftercare. You should avoid going in direct sunlight at first and use at least SPF30+ if it cannot be avoided.

When washing your face, make sure you use a gentle cleanser. Refrain from touching the treated area, especially in the first two or three days, as this action can lead to infection. Makeup should be avoided during this time, but if it is not possible, try to use mineral makeup.

Vivace® RF Microneedling Results

The first results of Vivace® RF microneedling can be seen within a few days after getting the treatment. After about a day or two, the skin should appear more radiant since it’s no longer looking as flushed. You can notice some improvement in your skin quality after a week, as the Vivace® RF microneedling accelerates cell turnover.

Over the next few weeks, the treatment will keep stimulating new collagen production, which will continue for about six months. You’ll notice that your wrinkles are less prominent, the sagging is reduced, and your features look more youthful overall. One treatment is enough to bring beautiful results, but we often recommend that you undergo a series of three sessions spread four weeks apart for the top effects.

While Vivace® RF microneedling can bring long-term results, these are not permanent. The procedure will continue producing more collagen and elastin over the next six months or slightly more, but the skin will gradually lower its production to normal over time. While sagging and new wrinkles may not appear immediately, they can still happen within the following years. For this reason, it is recommended that you get yearly maintenance treatments to delay new aging signs for as long as possible.

Candidates for Vivace® RF Microneedling

You might be a good candidate for Vivace® RF microneedling if you have mild to moderate aging signs. This includes wrinkles, fine lines, skin sagging, enlarged pores, acne scars, and other symptoms that appear due to loss of collagen. As the tool was approved to work on any area of your body, you may also be a good candidate if you have stretch marks.

You should be careful about getting this treatment if you have a history of skin conditions like psoriasis or eczema, active acne breakouts, or cold sores. Pregnant women might also want to avoid Vivace® RF microneedling until they finish breastfeeding. An initial consultation with Jadee MD Aesthetics is required to determine whether you are a candidate for the treatment.
