Restylane Fillers

The older you get, the more your body loses its ability to produce as much collagen as before. Your facial features begin to sag, wrinkles become more prominent, and you lose volume in areas like your lips and cheeks. Luckily, dermal filler injectables have become reliable resources in the battle against creases and volume loss. Our team of experts at Jade MD Aesthetics can provide natural results that enhance your features, using JUVÉDERM® to offer you a more youthful look.

How Restylane® Works

Restylane® works by injecting a hyaluronic acid formula underneath the skin where you are experiencing volume loss or facial creases. The gel-like formula will immediately smooth the skin, plumping it and reducing folds. Once the Restylane® is absorbed, the hyaluronic acid will bind itself to water molecules, expanding in size and creating volume.

Since hyaluronic acid is naturally produced in your body, the risk of an allergic reaction is very low. The skin will “accept” the substance, removing it from the body like the inner-produced kind. Once injected, the Restylane® solution will spread in the surrounding area, offering natural results and improving the skin texture.

Aside from facial volume loss, Restylane® can also enhance lip volume. Restylane® provides plump and luscious lips with natural volume for a more attractive and youthful appearance. The treatment usually takes no more than 20 to 30 minutes in the office, after which you can go on with your daily routine.

Restylane® Products Offered at Jade MD Aesthetics

Restylane® comes in different formulas and can be used in different areas, as follows:

Restylane®

This injectable is the standard option, and it is often used to treat static wrinkles and add natural volume where it is lacking. The effect lasts for about six months before it starts to fade.

Restylane® Eyelight™

If your eyes are constantly looking tired with dark circles underneath, Restylane® Eyelight™ can help. The filler adds volume to under-eye hollowing, and its thin formula offers natural results that last up to 18 months.

Restylane® Contour

If you are lacking volume in the cheek or jawline area, Restylane® Contour can restore its structure. Its thicker formula offers extra volume for more than 12 months.

Restylane® Defyne™

Made to correct the laugh lines around the mouth, Restylane® Defyne™ offers natural youthfulness. With a smooth formula that enables flexible movement, Defyne™ reduces static wrinkles around the mouth and nose for more than a year.

Restylane® Refyne™

Created for areas that get a lot of movement like your mouth and temples, Restylane® Refyne™ was made to last despite repetitive muscle contractions. Its thick formula lasts for around 12 months before it begins to dissipate.

Restylane® Kysse™

Designed to offer a beautiful, youthful pout, Restylane® Kysse™ can be used for lip augmentation and lip line correction. Featuring XpressHAn technology, its medium thickness allows natural lip volume for more than six months.

Restylane-L®

Restylane-L® is thinner compared to other variants and is used to treat moderate and severe wrinkles and lines. That said, it is injected deeper, and the effects have the potential to be long lasting. On average, the results last for about 18 months.

Recovery from Restylane®

Like with any other dermal filler, Restylane® recovery is short and easy. For the most part, your day should not be affected, so you can get the filler as a lunchtime treatment. However, you should avoid direct sunlight until hyaluronic acid is absorbed completely. Otherwise, the UV rays might damage the compounds.

Take care of your skin according to the instructions you receive, placing importance on hydration. As the hyaluronic acid in Restylane® needs moisture to attach itself to, it is important to apply nourishing creams as part of your routine. Make sure to use gentle movements during the application so you don’t cause the hyaluronic acid to move.

After the treatment, you might notice some bruising, inflammation, and redness. These side effects typically disappear within the first three days, although bruising sometimes lasts longer. Avoid baths, cold showers, and extensive exercise to minimize your bruising. Blood-thinning medicine, like aspirin, should also be avoided to reduce bruising, but you can use TYLENOL® if you feel the pain is uncomfortable.

Restylane® Results

Restylane® results are usually immediate, thanks to the gel-like formula of the filler. However, because of the swelling, you may not be able to notice them until two to three days have passed. Your skin will look smoother, and the treated area should have a more natural volume.

Over the next few days, the hyaluronic acid will be absorbed into your skin and trigger the production of new collagen. Within two to three weeks, you should be able to enjoy the final results of your treatment.

Restylane® results last about 12 months, but the final timeline can depend on how you care for your skin. For instance, wearing sunblock and drinking plenty of water can prolong the effects, protecting the collagen bonds and giving moisture to the hyaluronic acid molecules. Biannual or annual maintenance treatments are also recommended, as they help prolong the results for as long as you want.

Restylane® Candidates

You may be a suitable candidate for Restylane® treatments if you have moderate to severe static wrinkles and folds. This includes nasolabial folds, marionette lines, laugh lines, and other similar imperfections. Volume loss in the cheeks or thinning in the lips can also make you a good candidate.

Anyone over 21 can opt for dermal fillers, but most patients who choose Restylane® are women and men in their 30s or above. That’s when collagen loss starts becoming more noticeable, so you might feel the need to opt for Restylane®. The injectable can also help reduce imperfections like acne scars or large pores, as the renewed collagen triggered by the Restylane® will push the pore walls and fill your scars.

Patients for Restylane® should be in good health and have realistic expectations from the treatment. If you get an active infection right before your appointment, reschedule so the results are not compromised. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should wait before getting the Restylane® injectable.
