Juvederm Fillers

The older you get, the more your body loses its ability to produce as much collagen as before. Your facial features begin to sag, wrinkles become more prominent, and you lose volume in areas like your lips and cheeks. Luckily, dermal filler injectables have become reliable resources in the battle against creases and volume loss. Our team of experts at Jade MD Aesthetics can provide natural results that enhance your features, using JUVÉDERM® to offer you a more youthful look.

How JUVÉDERM® Works

JUVÉDERM® is a dermal filler based on hyaluronic acid that aims to add more volume in areas of your face where it was depleted. The substance occurs naturally in the body, which makes the chances of an allergic reaction very low. The gel-like formula of JUVÉDERM® can be used to reduce creases like marionette lines and nasolabial folds. Additionally, it can also be injected into the lips and cheeks for additional volume.

Hyaluronic acid attaches itself to water molecules, expanding several times its size and offering additional volume over time. Not only should this make the creases less visible, but it also provides hydration to the deeper levels of the skin. Hyaluronic acid is also connected to a higher production of collagen, which helps improve its texture and reduce dullness.

JUVÉDERM® is administered in small injections throughout different points of the treated area. Once it is in the skin, it will spread through various regions of the treatment point, adding more volume. The procedure takes less than 30 minutes to perform, making it a good option to get during lunchtime. Pain is minimal due to the lidocaine in the formula, reducing discomfort during the treatment.

JUVÉDERM® Products Offered at Jade MD Aesthetics

You can get different JUVÉDERM® formulas based on your aesthetic needs. At Jade MD Aesthetics, our patients can enjoy the following products:

JUVÉDERM®

The most common variant of JUVÉDERM®, this product is used to reduce wrinkles in the bottom half of your face. This includes creases like nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and other static wrinkles. JUVÉDERM® can also be used to add volume to the lips, the results lasting for around eight months to one year.

JUVÉDERM® VOLUMA™ XC

This formula helps restore facial volume. The injectable is most commonly used to add structure to your cheeks, the hyaluronic acid offers a more youthful appearance. Since it’s among the thickest formulas, it’s also long lasting, and the effects can last an average of two years.

JUVÉDERM® VOLBELLA™ XC

Designed to correct the appearance of wrinkles around the mouth and lip lines, JUVÉDERM® VOLBELLA™ was made to be injected in more delicate areas. This product was given a silkier and thicker formula than other versions, allowing for more fluidity underneath the skin that promises natural results. Unlike other fillers that usually last for about one year, JUVÉDERM® VOLBELLA™ can stay in the skin for up to 18 months.

JUVÉDERM® SKINVIVE™

For those who do not want extra volume but wish to enjoy the moisturizing ability of hyaluronic acid, SKINVIVE™ is the solution. One of the newest additions to the JUVÉDERM® family, this microdroplet injectable is added superficially underneath the skin to improve smoothness. It’s mostly administered in the cheeks but can also be used in other facial areas where you experience dryness, the glowing results last up to six months.

Recovery After JUVÉDERM®

JUVÉDERM® is a minimally invasive procedure, meaning that recovery is relatively smooth. It takes about two weeks for the skin to heal and for the filler to be absorbed. During this time, you should keep the injection site clean and avoid touching it as much as possible, especially in the first few hours. Otherwise, you risk the JUVÉDERM® migrating before it has the time to settle.

Some bruising, swelling, and redness are normal after getting the injections, and this is a skin reaction to every needle prick. Redness and swelling should fade within one to two days, the bruising being the last to disappear. You might also experience some mild pain after the lidocaine wears off, but it is usually bearable and can be controlled with some TYLENOL®.

Avoid taking aspirin and other blood-thinning medication, as this has the potential to make bruising worse. Stay away from places with hot temperatures, like saunas, hot showers, and baths, as this can worsen swelling. Apply cold compresses to reduce the swelling and keep the injected area elevated to keep the blood flowing. Avoid intensive exercise in the next 24 hours and allow the skin to heal.

JUVÉDERM® Results

The first JUVÉDERM® results are visible right after stepping out of the office, as the gel-like formula will offer an extra dose of volume. However, most of these results are concealed by the swelling, so you must wait. JUVÉDERM® settles and starts working quickly, with improvement becoming visible within one week.

The final results should become noticeable in two to three weeks once the hyaluronic acid settles and binds itself to water molecules. The filler can last between six and 18 months, depending on the JUVÉDERM® formula used. To make the most of your results, you should book regular JUVÉDERM® maintenance treatments.
